Fenbendazole Powder

Fenbendazole powder is the main ingredient in several common deworming medications. It treats and prevents a variety of intestinal parasites in dogs, cats, horses and other animal species. It is most often used to treat hookworm, roundworm and whipworm infections. It is also occasionally employed off-label to protect against giardia and lungworm infections in dogs.

This medication kills parasites by interfering with their ability to make energy. Specifically, it binds to tubulin, a protein that is essential for creating the microtubules that form the structure of the worm cell. This causes the worms to starve and die. It is a relatively fast acting medication and typically results in the shedding of the dead worms within 48 hours of administration.

Medications should always be prescribed by a licensed veterinarian. We encourage you to contact your vet with questions about how these products function, what species they are safe to use in and any other concerns or questions that you have.
